DETROIT, Michigan, March 23 -- The Detroit Regional Chamber issued the following statement by President and CEO Sandy K. Baruah:
"The most important thing now to get our society, and our economy, to normalcy, is to flatten the curve. However, a blanket 'shelter in place' order could have unintended consequences.
"Many businesses are providing important or essential services. Many businesses deemed unessential are able to safely operate within social distancing . . .
