Texas Gov. Abbott Requests Emergency Designation for Small Business Disaster Loans From U.S. Small Business Administration

AUSTIN, Texas, March 18 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release on March 17:

Governor Greg Abbott requested designation from the Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Declaration in order to access the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program for the entire state of Texas.

If granted, the SBA would provide long-term, low-interest loans to qualifying businesses across the state.
