BUFFALO, New York, March 17 -- The State University of New York Buffalo campus issued the following news release:

Editor's note: This statement was updated following Erie County's announcement at 7:30 p.m. that four additional people tested positive for COVID-19.

The first seven confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in Erie County are not believed to be directly connected to the University at Buffalo as students, faculty, staff or visiting scholars.
