BUFFALO, New York, March 11 -- The State University of New York Buffalo campus issued the following news release:
The statistics are alarming: Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. Every four minutes, a stroke victim dies.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately one out of every 20 deaths in the U.S. -- or 140,000 fatalities annually -- is a caused by stroke.
