WASHINGTON, Feb. 28 -- Rep. Tomaz Malinowski, D-New Jersey, issued the following statement on Feb. 27:
"One year ago today the House passed H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act. Each year more than 36,000 Americans are killed by gun violence and 100,000 are wounded. Just this week, another mass shooting left five people dead in Wisconsin.
Over 90% of Americans support background checks, yet H.R. 8 continues to languish in the Senate because Mitch McConnell . . .
