WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 -- Rep. John B. Larson, D-Connecticut, issued the following statement on Feb. 26 regarding the House passage of the Emmett Till Antilynching Act (H.R. 35):
"The practice of lynching in America remains a dark stain on our history.
"It is a disgrace that after thousands of tragic deaths lynching is still not a federal hate crime.
