WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 -- Rep. Jim Langevin, D-Rhode Island, issued the following news release:
Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI) voted in favor of H.J. Res. 79, legislation that would remove the deadline for states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) designed to ensure that the "equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State on account of sex." The bill passed the House by a vote of 232-183.
