ROYAL OAK, Michigan, Feb. 8 -- Education Trust-Midwest issued the following statement by Executive Director Amber Arellano on Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive budget recommendation for fiscal 2021:
"A high-quality public education remains the most effective tool for building a brighter future. Not only does success in school prepare a young person for life, but time and again it has been shown to increase lifetime earnings, reduce incarceration and contribute to a mor . . .
