WASHINGTON, Feb. 5 -- Sen. John Thune, R-South Dakota, issued the following remarks:
Senate Majority Whip Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), stated that he will vote to acquit the president in the final days of the impeachment trial. After hearing from the House managers and the president's defense, Thune concluded that the evidence and testimony delivered by the House do not meet the standard for the overturning of an election.
