WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 -- Rep. Paul Mitchell, R-Michigan, issued the following statement after Ontario Power Generation announced it no longer plans to store nuclear waste near Lake Huron:
"It is welcomed news OPG finally halted their plans to build a nuclear waste dump on the shore of Lake Huron. Stopping construction on this irresponsible project has been a priority of mine since I first came to Congress.
I have worked with my Michigan colleagues to urge both Canadia . . .
