WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 -- Rep. Brenda Lawrence, D-Michigan, issued the following statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

We commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day by memorializing the genocide of more than 6 million Jews and the millions of others murdered by the Nazi regime. January 27, 2020 holds special meaning as this year's observation marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
