The state of New Jersey will be releasing the remainder of the $235 million in spending Gov. Phil Murphy froze when he signed the state budget in June 2019. This includes the first $1 million of the $2 million earmarked for the Civic Information Consortium, a first-of-its-kind initiative to strengthen local-news coverage and boost civic engagement across the state.
