WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 -- Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, ranking Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on Jan. 15 applauding the signing of the phase one trade agreement by the U.S. and China:
"I am encouraged that the United States and China have signed a Phase 1 trade agreement. I hope this serves as a first step toward rebalancing our trade relationship and leveling the playing field in the China market for American companies. C . . .
