WASHINGTON, Jan. 15 -- Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, ranking Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the death of Mustafa Kassem in an Egyptian prison:
"I am deeply saddened and troubled that Mustafa Kassem, an American citizen who has been unjustly detained in Egypt since 2013, died in an Egyptian prison yesterday.
