WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 -- RepS. Eliot L. Engel, D-New York, and Rep. Michael T. McCaul, R-Texas, chairman and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following joint statement on Taiwan elections:
"We congratulate Dr. Tsai Ing-wen on her reelection as the President of Taiwan, and the millions of Taiwanese people who demonstrated their democratic spirit by voting in the presidential and Legislative Yuan elections.
