WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 -- Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, D-New York, issued the following statement regarding the earthquakes that struck Puerto Rico:
"All the people of Puerto Rico, our fellow American citizens, should know that Americans everywhere are praying for them.
"We must ensure the federal government learns from the mistakes of the past and responds competently, compassionately and swiftly. It is wholly inexcusable that this Administration continues delaying . . .
