HOUSTON, Texas, Jan. 6 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued the following news release:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District is set to begin removal of the cofferdams at Addicks and Barker Dams on Jan 6. The cofferdams have served as part of the dams, protecting the work site and the City of Houston for the past 30 months while new concrete outlet structures were constructed and the primary dam embankment restored. Work to remove the cofferdams will begin at Bar . . .
