HONOLULU, Hawaii, Dec. 21 -- UNITE HERE, a labor union for workers in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, transportation and airport industries in the U.S. and Canada, issued the following news release:
Over 500 UNITE HERE Local 5 members at HMSHost Honolulu--workers at the concessions, restaurants, Starbucks, bars, pantry, maintenance, etc.--are on strike. This is the first time that HMSHost workers have gone on strike in Hawai'i.
