WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 -- Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, issued the following statement after voting on passage of the text to ratify the U.S.-Mexico-Canada free trade agreement:
"Today I voted to support passage of H.R. 5430, the bill implementing USMCA.
"While I would have preferred to keep NAFTA intact and negotiate some additional provisions to modernize it, I voted to support the deal to give our companies trade certainty and our country market stability.
