WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, issued the following statement after the House passed the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Appropriations bill by a 297-120 vote:
"For years, the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education funding bill has been shortchanged. We are making up for lost ground. We fought the Senate to win crucial investments . . .
