WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 -- Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, D-New York, issued the following statement on the provisions in the appropriations package for fiscal 2020 that provide funds for Puerto Rico's Medicaid program:
"I'm relieved this bill addresses, at least temporarily, the shortfall in federal matching funds for Puerto Rico's Medicaid program. The Island continues struggling to recover from Maria, and that natural disaster imposed enormous strain on Puerto Rico's healthcare system . . .
