WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, issued the following statement after securing $25 million in gun violence prevention research funding in the fiscal 2020 funding bill:
"Nearly 7 years to the day after we lost 20 beautiful children and 6 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary, we are finally making progress in Congress to reduce gun violence.
