Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) helped pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act, a critical bill restoring the full strength of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA), which was gutted in 2013 by the Supreme Court's decision in Shelby County v. Holder. Rep. Maloney was an original cosponsor of the bill.
