WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement in response to White House Counsel Pat A. Cipollone's letter informing the committee that President Trump would not participate in its first impeachment hearing:
