TRIANGLE, Virginia, Nov. 29 -- The United Mine Workers of America issued the following statement by International President Cecil E. Roberts regarding the proposal by Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Lamar Alexander, R-Tennessee, addressing the multi-employer pension plan crisis:
