Murphy Praises Passage of Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Wednesday praised Senate and House passage of the bipartisan Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, which he cosponsored. The legislation seeks to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in Hong Kong, and will now head to the president's desk.
