FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, Nov. 19 -- Broward County Public Schools issued the following statement by Superintendent Robert W. Runcie:
"We appreciate that Governor DeSantis is continuing the conversation about increasing teacher pay. It is the right conversation to have.
"Along with the plan to raise the minimum teacher salary to $47,500, we have to keep in mind that our veteran teachers should also benefit from any salary increase.
