WASHINGTON, Nov. 13 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement regarding the situation in Israel:

"I'm worried for my friends in Israel who are facing hundreds of rocket attacks from Islamic Jihad over the last 24 hours.

"Israel has every right to defend itself proportionally from these attacks, and it's clear we must continue to support Israel's advanced missile defense system.
