WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 -- Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Oregon, issued the following news release:
Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking Committee, Jack Reed (D-RI), Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), today introduced legislation that extends the protections of the Military Lending Act (MLA), which caps the interest rate on consumer loans at 36%, to cover veterans and other consumers.
