NEW YORK, Nov. 6 -- The New York City Police Department issued the following news release:
Year-to-date as of October 31, index crime remains down in 2019, with overall index crime down -1.8% from 2018 (78,887 vs 80,313). Additionally, for October 2019 vs. October 2018, rape, felony assault, burglary and overall crime in the transit system are all down.
