POUGHKEEPSIE, New York, Nov. 1 -- Central Hudson Gas and Electric, a subsidiary of Fortis Co., issued the following news release:
Substantial progress was made today in restoring electric service to affected homes and businesses in the aftermath of a strong wind storm that impacted the region overnight. Electric service has been restored to nearly 30,000 customers, or 70 percent of those initially affected at the height of the storm. As of 5 p.m. approximately 12,000 outages remain, . . .
