Thirteen years, thousands of hours and exhaustive research have paid off as one of the most recognizable symbols of World War II - the Memphis Belle - has been named by the U.S. Air Force History and Museums Program as a recipient of the 2019 Air Force Heritage Award for its restoration by the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
