WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, issued the following statement after the Education Department released the National Assessment of Educational Progress results:
"The 2019 National Assessment of Educational Progress results for our nation's fourth- and eighth-grade students are disappointing and show that we must work urgently to strengthen public educatio . . .
