WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 -- Rep. Albio Sires, D-New Jersey, issued the following statement regarding his support for the Water Quality Protection and Job Creation Act (H.R. 1497), to authorize $16.7 billion for clean water infrastructure programs over the next five years:
"I am a proud cosponsor of this bill and I supported its passage out of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee because I believe the federal government has a responsibility to help states maintain . . .
