WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate voted to ratify North Macedonia as NATO's 30th member by a 91-2 vote:
"This is an historic day for the people of North Macedonia, the NATO alliance, and the free world.
"As Putin continues to undermine democracies and weaken US-led alliances, the Senate's vote to ratify North Macedonia's NATO members . . .
