Chautauqua Lake's Water Level to Be Lowered for Winter Season

JAMESTOWN, New York, Oct. 16 -- Chautauqua County issued the following news:
The Chautauqua County Division of Planning and Community Development has announced that the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities (BPU) will be opening the Warner Dam starting on October 17, 2019 so Chautauqua Lake's water level can trend downward for the winter season.
"In late October, we try to drop the lake level from the summer recreational season level of 1,308.2 feet to a lower winte . . .
