ELIZABETH, New Jersey, Oct. 13 -- Sen. Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement after Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper announced that President Trump had ordered the withdrawal of U.S. forces from northern Syria:
