WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 -- Rep. Daniel Kildee, D-Michigan, chief deputy whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement after Turkey launched a military offensive into northeastern Syria targeting the Kurdish allies days after the Trump administration announced it was pulling U.S. troops back from the area:
"President Trump's decision to suddenly pull U.S. forces out of northern Syria, at the request of Turkish President Erdogan, is a betrayal to the Kurdish peop . . .
