WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism, issued the following statement on reports that Turkey launched an offensive attack against Kurdish fighters in northeastern Syria:
