ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tennessee, Oct. 8 -- The U.S. Air Force issued the following news:
The Aeropropulsion Systems Test Facility at Arnold Air Force Base was completed just over 35 years ago, marking the end of construction on a project decades in the making and the beginning of what then-Arnold Engineering Development Center Commander Col. Philip Conran called "a new era of turbine engine and airplane testing."
ASTF was dedicated on Oct. 2, 1984.
