MUMBAI, India, Oct. 7 -- Sen. Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement in reaction to the announcement by the White House that the Trump administration will withdraw U.S. forces from northern Syria and drop its support for American-backed Kurdish forces:
