WASHINGTON, Oct. 7 -- Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, D-New York, issued the following statement regarding President Trump's announcement on Syria:
"I find it reckless that the President would cast aside our Kurdish allies in a cynical effort to appease an authoritarian regime in Turkey.
"Equally alarming, this erratic foreign policy can create a regional power vacuum that could be filled by Iran and Russia, while undermining our credibility among allies and adversa . . .
