WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 -- Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, D-Texas, issued the following statement in response to the Homeland Security Department's announcement that it will issue a waiver, which would expedite the construction of border barriers in the Rio Grande Valley Sector:
"President Trump, in the midst of a crisis of his own making, is still obsessed with his wall.
"A wall is defeated with a simple ladder, and therefore you need personnel to make it effective.
