AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 1 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jeff Alley as Chief Justice of the Eighth Court of Appeals for a term set to expire on December 31, 2020, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
