AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 1 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Governor Greg Abbott today requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for Texas counties that sustained widespread damage due to severe flooding as a result of Tropical Storm Imelda.
