NEWARK, New Jersey, Oct. 2 -- The U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Craig Carpenito, issued the following news release:

A City of Paterson police officer admitted conspiring with other officers to violate the civil rights of individuals in Paterson, using unreasonable and excessive force, and filing a false police report to conceal his criminal activity, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.
