WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 -- Reps. Eliot Engel, D-New York, and Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following joint statement on the ongoing protests in Egypt and reports of arbitrary detention of protestors and journalists:
