WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 -- Rep. John B. Larson, D-Connecticut, issued the following statement after the passage of the Homeland Security Improvement Act (H.R. 2203) and the U.S. Border Patrol Medical Screening Standards Act (H.R. 3525):
"Every American should be appalled by the treatment of migrant families and children who are seeking refuge and asylum.
"This is not who we are as a country; that's why this week I voted for critical protections for these familie . . .
