WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 -- The House Science, Space and Technology Committee issued the following statement by Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas, at a hearing entitled "Understanding, Forecasting, and Communicating Extreme Weather in a Changing Climate":
