YANKTON, South Dakota, Sept. 26 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued the following news release:
With paddlefish snagging season set to begin Oct. 1, anglers are cautioned that hazardous conditions will exist on the Missouri River below Gavins Point Dam due to high releases. Outflows from Gavins Point Dam will be at or above 80,000 cubic feet per second for the entire month of October to help evacuate the 9 million acre-feet of water from the reservoir system prior to the star . . .
